Psychological Assessment

We always start to explore the difficulties and the abilities of the child and teenager by making a psychological assessment, which is a part of the diagnostic examination and is considered necessary before any therapeutic intervention. First, it helps us to understand what is happening and then to decide which is the best way to intervene in the specific difficulties. Does your child need an educational assessment, does he or she need a treatment of his or her difficulties, would it help if he or she uses both, or could we solve the difficulties with the help of counseling with parents? Depending on the parents’ request, but also my suggestions based on what I hear, we decide on the continuity of our cooperation.

The first meeting with the parents takes place where the story is presented. This is a brief process, so it happens in 1 or in some cases in 2 meetings. On asking the questions about the different periods of the child’s life, I have the opportunity to learn the child how you see him or her.

At this stage, your child’s presence is not required.

The psychological assessment also includes the use by the specialist of various clinical tools (psychometric tests, personality tests, questionnaires for parents and educators respectively, etc.) and especially the clinical observation to understand the difficulties and the symptoms.
